Over the course of the past several years, the idea of political change has dominated the news. While political change might seem to occur at about the pace of molasses in January, change is a real constant in all of our lives. From the natural world to the emotional and psychological landscape, change occurs regularly. Seasonal shifts and emotional storms re-order our private, and sometimes public, worlds. The artwork presented in this show by Long Island City Artists makes visible the subject, effect and context of change. While many of us trust our world to remain recognizable from day to day, many of us recognize how radically changed the world is from day to day.
