Space Grant at Flushing Town Hall
Tue Dec 18th - Sun Jun 30th
In 2009, FCCA developed the Space Grant to support new, emerging and mid-career artists in order to offer them a space to develop projects that share FCCA’s mission. FCCA Space Grants can be for any length of time, provided FCCA has available space. Space Grant recipients have included puppeteers, film-makers, dancers, choreographers, theatre professionals and circus artists.

Fri Oct 12th Lecture & Demonstration: Samadhi + Art = Sagyeong
Oegil Kim Kyeong Ho, will give a lecture and demonstration on the traditional Korean technique of Sagyeong. The lecture will be in Korean with onsite English interpretation. After the lecture, the artist will sign copies of his painting in gold ink. Starts at 8:00 PM.
Sat Jul 13th Artist Talk (Bridging the Gap: Long Island City Artists (LICA))
This multi-venue show, curated by LICA, reaches out to the varied communities near LaGuardia Community College, Flushing Town Hall, and Queensborough Community College, to highlight and showcase the broad diversity and creativity of Queens’ artists. A great way to learn more about the LICA exhibiting artists and their artworks. Starts at 2:00 PM.
Sat Jul 20th - Sun Sep 1st New Growth: Works by Visual Artist Members of Flushing Town Hall
All members of Flushing Town Hall who are visual artists are invited to show their work in this exhibition which is a yearly tradition at historic Flushing Town Hall. This year’s theme celebrates the lovely new landscaping and re-construction of FTH’s garden and outdoor performance space.
Sun Aug 18th Salon Sunday
Artists working in any medium are invited to bring in slides, CDs or samples of their work. Each artist is allotted a time to speak, followed by Q & A while we network over cookies and coffee. The public is always invited to meet area artists and join in the discussion. Starts at 2:00 PM.

Sat Jun 29th FAMILY WORKSHOP: WITH SUN PRINTING
For Families: Leaves, flowers, lace & feathers are common items that transfer well through Sunprinting. Bring objects to print, items with an interesting silhouette and/or are translucent, or cut paper shapes to transfer - with LICA exhibition artist Mary Pinto. Starts at 2:00 PM.

Thu Jul 11th Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Flushing Town Hall Garden and Portico Renovations
For Families: We're celebrating the opening of our newly-renovated Garden and Portico! You are invited to our Ribbon Cutting, and to explore Flushing Town Hall's beautiful new Garden; refreshments will be served, entertainment provided. The Ribbon-cutting will be led by DCA Commissioner Kate Levin and Queens Borough President Helen Marshall, along with members of the Queens Delegation, other Elected Officials, and members of the Board of Directors of Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts. Starts at 12:00 PM.
Thu Jul 25th - Sun Jul 28th Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
Taking place in modern day Queens, Shakespeare's classic love story is set against the backdrop of two first-generation American youths falling in love while their transplanted families, one Israeli Jews and the other Palestinian Muslims, continue their "ancient grudge" which "breaks to new mutiny" on the streets of Flushing. Starts at 8:00 PM.

Sat Aug 3rd Yaji for Traditional Chinese Painting and Calligraphy
For Families: Yaji in ancient China meant elegant gatherings in gardens, which brought together famous musicians, chess players, calligraphers, and painters. In this event, the calligraphers and painters will create art work on our premises, as well as illustrate the motivation behind their work. Come to see the creative process and Q&A and hands-on guidance from the artists. Starts at 2:00 PM.
Fri Aug 16th Yoga in the Garden
For Families: Bring your yoga mats and stretch your stress away in our beautiful garden! Yumcha Yoga, has assembled a group of skilled yoga instructors and musicians for a special outdoor performance that blends classic yoga poses and singing. Starts at 7:00 PM.
Wed Aug 28th - Fri Aug 30th Korean Culture Summer Camp
For Families: Explore Korean traditional culture through various fun and engaging activities. Students will have the opportunity to make their own Korean masks, play a Korean mask-dance drama, and learn how to play a traditional instrument (buk or janggu). Starts at 11:00 AM.
